Lun topli/basket is a vessel used in Gujarati Wedding. It has a loti which is know as Tabudi in gujarati, is a integral part of wedding ceremony. The loti is therefore considered auspicious and worshipped. It contains coins or solid salt which would make sound when vessel is shaken. In olden days in Gujarat (India), some weddings were held during night. Thus groom’ sister’s responsibility was to make sound using Lun, to keep him awake throughout the wedding night.
